Trail Team

The Trail Team (TTT) is described as the United States’ first professional development team for trail running. Operating under the American Trail Running Association, a nonprofit organization, TTT helps rising athletes bridge the gap between college competition and professional trail racing. Its mission is to develop promising runners through mentorship, skill-building and media exposure.

The team includes elite, under-supported sub-ultra runners, generally ages 20 to 30, who live and train in the United States. Each January, six new members are selected through an application process. TTT also maintains a wider network of former team members and supported athletes.

The organization provides practical and financial assistance, including support for race travel, accommodation and entry costs. Its training camps bring athletes together for high-performance preparation, peer mentorship and professional development. Participants may also access services such as sports massage, physical therapy, chiropractic care and nutrition guidance. TTT partners with running brands and specialists to provide equipment and support, and helps athletes gain experience at major domestic and international races.
