About Train Station
Tatamagouche Train Station Inn is a boutique hospitality destination in the heart of Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia, combining historic railway character with places to stay, eat and shop. Its accommodations are vintage Canadian-built cabooses and boxcars, redesigned as private deluxe suites while retaining reminders of their railway heritage. The property also includes an original 19th-century train station, built around 1887, that houses an eclectic gift shop and a cafe serving locally roasted coffee.
Guests can dine in the Railway Dining Car or Jitney Cafe, where menus make use of vegetables and edible flowers grown in the stationโs pesticide-free garden. The Baggage Room Bar offers local craft beers and ciders, and the railway platform hosts live music during the summer. Visitors can also explore the distinctive 600-foot, 400-ton train on site and walk or cycle the nearby Trans Canada Trail, which follows the former rail bed. Located close to village shops, markets, cultural venues and other attractions, the inn offers a distinctive base for experiencing Tatamagouche and its railway past.
