Traits en Savoie is a dedicated association focused on the preservation and promotion of draft horses, especially within the Savoie region. This organization plays a vital role in celebrating equine heritage, particularly the historic use of draft horses in agriculture, mining, and transportation. With a rich educational component, Traits en Savoie organizes various activities such as exhibitions, demonstrations, and professional training related to the use of draft horses.
Their offerings encompass traditional techniques such as draught horse logging and vineyard work, as well as modern innovations in hippo-mobile machinery. The association also provides resources for horse professionals and enthusiasts, including standards for horse breeds and regulations. By engaging the community through events like the 'day of harnessing' and local environmental initiatives, Traits en Savoie aims to foster a deeper appreciation for this unique part of rural culture. The association is not just about horses; it represents a commitment to sustainable practices and the legacy of working animals.
