Founded in 1892, Tranmere Sailing Club is a volunteer-run community club based on Bedford Road East in Rock Ferry, Wirral, beside the River Mersey. It welcomes people who enjoy sailing, boating and spending time on the water in a friendly, safe environment. The club brings together yacht sailors, dinghy sailors, motorboaters and sea anglers, with activities ranging from relaxed evening and weekend sailing to local cruises, competitive races and leisurely events. Members can use two club sailing dinghies if they have suitable skills and their own sailing and safety equipment.

Tranmere Sailing Club also offers regular Wednesday social evenings, and members may hire the clubhouse, which includes a bar, meeting room and fitted kitchen. Training is peer-led, drawing on experienced members’ practical knowledge. For boat care and maintenance, the club has a workshop equipped with lighting, electricity, benches and selected tools and equipment. The club supports social events, community participation and local charities, and works with partners including the UK Northwest Blind Sailor Association.
