Working independently as civic associations, tranzit aims to support and express emancipatory practices while bridging the gap between culture and society. For over a decade, tranzit has served as a critical platform, challenging established post-war European art history canons. Through promoting contemporary art practices, theory, and social discourses, tranzit contributes to present-day movements of solidarity and community building.

Each tranzit initiative operates under its own conditions, contextualizing and hosting artistic, theoretical, and activist debates. Activities include exhibitions, thematic projects, seminars, publications, and participatory interventions in public discourse.
