Trap Pond Partners is a non-profit organization based in Laurel, DE. Established in September 2000, we have officially partnered with the Division of Parks & Recreation and received recognition and approval from the IRS in January 2006. Our dedicated members, primarily from western Sussex County, share a deep passion for preserving the natural and recreational resources of Trap Pond State Park for future generations.

As part of our fundraising efforts, we organize annual events to support the park. These include the Beer, Wine, Spirits Festival on the 4th Saturday in September, the Nature Festival in May/June, the Family Jeep Weekend on the 2nd weekend in April, and the Get In Gear Family Bike Rally on the 1st Saturday in May. Additionally, we sell concessions at Trap Pond's Free Summer Saturday Concerts.

Trap Pond Partners welcomes everyone to become a member and actively participate. By joining us at our monthly meetings at The Baldcypress Nature Center on the second Wednesday of each month, you can contribute to the future of Trap Pond State Park. Donations are also greatly appreciated, as all raised funds directly benefit the park.

Over the years, Trap Pond Partners has made significant contributions, including the construction of a new playground, the installation of a Little Free Library, the purchase of AED machines, bikes for public use, and more. We have also provided funding for the park's disc golf course, the Bethesda Church renovation, campsite scholarships, and nature programs for local children. Furthermore, we have established a partnership with the Laurel Public Library, showcasing Trap Pond State Park through a display case.

As a volunteer-based organization, we offer numerous opportunities for members to get involved at Trap Pond State Park. Our volunteers participate in various events such as Nemours Healthy Kid's Day and the Halloween Howl festivities. We are proud to be #TrapPondPartners Volunteers at Work! Trap Pond Partners is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of the park.
