Trapshooting

The Trapshooting Academy is a coaching and athlete-development organization specializing in Olympic trapshooting. Established in 2006 and based in Stoney Creek, Ontario, it serves athletes from Toronto, Hamilton, across the Greater Toronto Area, Southern Ontario, and beyond. Its year-round programs support participants at different stages, from their first experience with the sport to national and international competition.

Foundational coaching introduces new shooters to the fundamentals in a structured, safe, and welcoming environment. For developing competitors, the Academy offers focused performance coaching and multi-year training plans designed to support long-term progress. It also organizes international training camps and professionally planned corporate, organizational, and private group events.

The Academy’s mission is to help athletes of all ages, genders, and abilities pursue meaningful goals through expert coaching and structured progression. Head Coach Florin Marinache brings experience as a national trap coach at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, the 2018 World Championships, and the 2023 Pan American Games. The Academy highlights junior championship results at Canadian national events in 2024 and 2025.
