Trauerhilfe – abschied GesmbH operates Trauerhilfe, an online portal supporting people dealing with bereavement and helping families share information and remembrance with their communities. The site brings together death notices, funeral calendars, anniversaries and information about local funeral directors, alongside practical guidance on farewells and funeral planning. It also provides resources for finding support, including links to telephone counselling, Caritas, the Red Cross and churches.

At the request of a deceased person’s family, Trauerhilfe can publish a funeral notice and memorial image online, create an electronic condolence book, and offer free virtual candles as a way for visitors to express sympathy. Families who prefer charitable contributions to flowers or wreaths can also arrange virtual donation candles. Proceeds are forwarded to a designated organisation, less a 10% administration cost. The portal’s services are designed to make online expressions of condolence available with sensitivity and respect for the deceased and their loved ones.
