Trauersprüche

Trauerspruch. de is an independent German-language website that helps people find words to express sympathy and support after a death. Online since 2002, it brings together practical guidance and contributions from visitors, offering inspiration for personal condolence messages, sympathy cards and words to share at a funeral.

Its resources include suggestions for structuring a condolence letter, from an opening and words of comfort to a tribute, an expression of sympathy and a closing. Visitors can browse secular and religious sayings, quotations from notable figures, Bible verses, funeral poems and condolence wording. The site also provides ideas for messages to write on funeral wreath ribbons and a personal bookmark feature for saving meaningful contributions.

Many texts have been submitted by community members, including authors who share poems and verses shaped by personal experiences of grief. Rather than prescribing a single message, Trauerspruch. de offers examples to help users organize their thoughts and find language that feels appropriate to their relationship with the bereaved and the person who has died
