Tree Trust is a foundational program established in June 2019, dedicated to preserving important legacy trees in communities across Southern Ontario. We understand the tremendous environmental value that mature trees offer to both our community and the world at large. Our mission is to extend the lifespan of these legacy trees by hiring professional, certified arborists who practice their craft through various techniques like reducing a tree's crown, removing deadwood, and retrenching where needed.
Over the past two years, Tree Trust has grown to include seven community partners: Centre Wellington, Stratford-Perth, Meaford, Toronto Island, Town of The Blue Mountains, Waterloo Region, and Guelph. Each community partner manages their own local Tree Trust Chapter, supported by Tree Trust headquarters in Elora, Ontario. Tree Trust is a program of the Elora Environment Centre, which was founded in 1993.
The Centre's mission is to identify, field test, and deliver environmental programs at the community level, promoting sustainability through public education and activities. If you have a public legacy tree that needs work, reach out to us. We are here to help!
