Tren Mayaa

The Tren Maya is a railway transportation system that will connect the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico, and is owned by the public company Olmeca-Maya-Mexica. This innovative project will offer three types of services: passenger trains, tourist trains, and freight trains, and is aimed at promoting social and economic development and sustainable tourism in the region. Stretching over 1500 kilometers, the line will pass through the states of Chiapas, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatán, and Quintana Roo, and feature 20 stations and 690 kilometers of electrified tracks.

The fleet, called Tsíimin K’áak, will consist of trains with a hybrid diesel-electric model and will be used for this ambitious project. The Tren Maya project promises to revolutionize transportation in the southeast region of Mexico, making it a key player in the economic and tourist development of the area
