About TriangleMTB

Recently, the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority has agreed to lease 151 acres of land, known as the 286 property, to Wake County, which will be used as a public mountain biking recreational area. Wake County, in collaboration with TriangleMTB, aims to preserve green spaces and expand recreational offerings for residents.
The lease includes the sanctioned use of mountain biking trails, allowing cyclists to enjoy their favorite outdoor activity in a safe and regulated environment. In addition to the existing trails, TriangleMTB plans to rebuild 7 miles of trails, create a maintenance trail for vehicular access, and establish amenities such as a parking lot, composting toilet, picnic shelter, and drop-off/event area.
