About Tri-Cities Middle Childhood Matters
Tri-Cities Kids Matter is a community collaboration focused on advancing the well-being and success of children aged 0 to 12 and their families in Anmore, Belcarra, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody. Its work is carried out through the Tri-Cities Early Childhood Development and Middle Childhood Matters committees, alongside a network of local community partners.
The initiative develops and supports programs, events and resources that promote child and family wellness. These include the Live 5210 Play Box Program, the Unplug and Connect campaign, the Tri-Cities Children’s Charter and Children’s Accord, and awards recognizing community champions. It also offers professional development workshops for child care professionals, family events, and information to help residents find local services.
Families and professionals can explore child development resources for early years and middle years, use an interactive community resource map, and access community reports, calendars, newsletters and guides. Tri-Cities Kids Matter also acknowledges the Indigenous Nations whose traditional territories include the region and emphasizes collaboration in building a strong, family-centred community.
