Voices for Independence (VFI) serves people with disabilities across Western Pennsylvania, helping them live well and independently through choice, self-determination, accessibility, and community participation. For more than 30 years, VFI has operated as a Center for Independent Living, offering personalized support shaped around each person’s goals and needs. Its core services include information and referrals, peer support, advocacy, independent living skills training, and transition services for people moving from facilities into community living or navigating other life changes.
VFI also provides health and wellness resources, employment guidance, and assistive technology support. Through its Assistive Technology Resource Center and partnership with TechOWL, it serves seven counties with adaptive devices and related assistance to promote access and independence. The organization connects individuals and families with useful resources and service agencies, while peer mentors and staff help people build skills and pursue personal goals.
VFI also offers community activities and operates home care services, including caregiver opportunities in the Washington region and surrounding areas
