We are a non-profit wildlife rehabilitation center serving 50+ counties in the Mid-Atlantic region. Our clinic admits more than 3,000 native wild birds every year. Most become ill, injured, contaminated, or orphaned due to human-related causes such as vehicle and window strikes, lead and rodenticide poisoning, domestic pet attacks, adherence to sticky traps, contaminated with oil, diesel, and other contaminants, and fishing line entrapment. We are open 365 days a year to rehabilitate patients with the goal of returning them to their natural habitat. We also educate the public as to how to help prevent wild bird injuries. offers educational programs for schools, scouts, and community groups. Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research is a wildlife rehabilitation organization with 50 years of experience focused on the care and protection of native wild birds. Operating under federal and state permits, its Wild Bird Clinic provides medical treatment, suitable housing, and specialized diets for injured, orphaned, and oil-contaminated birds. The organization also offers public education and outreach, and guidance to people who find birds needing help. Birds can be brought to its Newark, Delaware, clinic every day between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Since 1976, the organization has responded to wildlife affected by oil spills, with trained staff available around the clock to support incidents worldwide. It is among a small number of U.S. organizations equipped to manage responses to major spills. Its approach emphasizes teamwork and preparedness, bringing together agencies, wildlife professionals, responsible parties, wildlife care organizations, and community members.
