Trnt has a rich background, with the establishment of the brand in 2005. Previously, the Territory had two principal clubs - Darwin and Alice Springs Turf Club. However, after a review by the Australian Racing Board, it was decided that only one Principal Club could represent the Territory, and that role went to the Darwin Turf Club.

Trnt offers a wide range of services, including benchmark rules and rating scales, barrier trials, licensing applications, and trackside magazine. They also provide information on racehorse ownership, registration applications, syndicates, and industry job vacancies. Trnt is committed to off-the-track welfare and has a dedicated commitment program to support this cause.
