Established in Ghana in 2001, Tropenbos Ghana became a legal national entity and a member of the Tropenbos International network in 2017. Their mission is to generate, communicate, and advocate the application of information that enhances forest benefits through collaborative and participatory approaches.

Tropenbos Ghana strives to influence forest policy and practice to improve livelihoods. They work towards increasing forest cover and the number of trees in landscapes, especially in cocoa farms and degraded forest lands. They also develop inclusive governance models to secure tree tenure rights for farmers and accelerate the implementation of sustainable and climate-smart cocoa supply chains.
