About Trusting News
Trusting News is a research and training project dedicated to helping journalists earn the trust of news consumers. As a project of the Reynolds Journalism Institute (RJI) and the American Press Institute (API), Trusting News explores how people make decisions about trusting news and develops actionable strategies for journalists to build credibility. The project believes in the importance of listening and humility in journalism and aims to provide news that is reflective of diverse communities and responsive to their feedback.
Trusting News offers various resources and support to journalists, including training, coaching, webinars, and more. The project also conducts research in collaboration with academic researchers to better understand news consumers' perceptions and behaviors. Ultimately, Trusting News strives to foster transparency, engagement, and trust in journalism.
