About Tsadra
Tsadra Foundation is a privately funded nonprofit organization based in New York City that is dedicated to advancing the study and practice of Tibetan Buddhism in the West. The foundation takes its name from Tsadra Rinchen Drak, a hermitage and retreat center established by the renowned Tibetan master Jamgön Kongtrul in Eastern Tibet. Kongtrul was widely respected for his achievements in contemplation and scholarship, and his life and teachings serve as the primary source of inspiration for Tsadra Foundation.
The foundation is committed to the non-sectarian approach and respects all authentic traditions of Tibetan Buddhism. It provides vital funding for the combined study and practice of Tibetan Buddhism in the West, aiming to contribute to the ongoing development of wisdom and compassion in Western minds. Tsadra Foundation offers scholarships and supports various translation and publication projects.
