About The Student Life
The Student Life is a renowned college newspaper that has been serving the Claremont Colleges community since 1889. As the oldest college newspaper in Southern California, it provides unbiased and factual reporting on breaking news and controversial issues. The newspaper publishes a print edition every Friday during the academic year and offers daily online content.
In addition to covering news, The Student Life shines a spotlight on noteworthy student achievements and provides consistent coverage of cultural events and sports on campus. It also serves as a platform for diverse opinions, showcasing the wide array of identities and perspectives within the 7C community. The Editorial Board, consisting of the editor-in-chief and two managing editors, ensures the quality and integrity of the publication.
Supporting The Student Life means supporting the future of journalism. Donations assist in various areas, including funding for summer media internships, acquiring media equipment for a high-quality viewer experience, expanding audience outreach through podcasts, video, social media, and website extensions, and maintaining a collaborative space for staff to create engaging content. The Student Life's extensive archives dating back to 1889 are available for public access at the Honnold/Mudd Library's Special Collections.
