"つぼ八" is a Hokkaido-born izakaya that first opened its doors in 1973 in the town of Kotoni in Sapporo, with a humble space of just eight tsubo (approximately 16 tatami mats). The name "つぼ八" originates from this small beginning. In a time when everything was valued by market prices, "つぼ八" stood out by offering delicious dishes at clear, affordable prices.
While the original location in Kotoni no longer stands, a new "つぼ八 Kotoni branch" continues the legacy. The brand's focus on providing affordable, delicious, and fresh cuisine using Hokkaido's bountiful resources has resonated nationwide.
