Tsukushinosato

Joetsu Tsukushinosato Medical Welfare Association is a social welfare organization based in Joetsu, Niigata, serving people with disabilities in Joetsu and Itoigawa. Established in 1991 to operate facilities supporting the social reintegration of people with mental disabilities, it now provides disability welfare services under Japan’s Act for Comprehensive Support for Persons with Disabilities. Its guiding principle is to value each individual and work together to build communities where everyone can live comfortably.

The association operates a range of services and facilities, including Tsukushi Workshop, work-training and workshop spaces, Hinamawari Workshop, Komakusa Community Life Support Center, and group homes in Joetsu and Itoigawa. Its support spans employment and vocational training, community living, creative activities, and daily life. The organization also promotes social participation through community events and exchanges, and offers products for sale. Activities include the Tsukushi Farm sunflower field, local markets, and public events such as the Echigo Takada Hasaki Welfare Road Marathon. Its work is carried out with the cooperation of service users, staff, local residents, and partner organizations.
