TTSV 1950

Tischtennis-Sportverein 1950 e.V. (TTSV 1950) is a table tennis club in Chemnitz, Germany, welcoming people of all ages and experience levels, from active competitors to recreational players. Its roots date back to 1950, when it was founded as Betriebssportgemeinschaft Motor Spinnereimaschinenbau to promote community sport. The original organization included football, volleyball, gymnastics and table tennis; the table tennis section grew quickly and fielded as many as three teams in city competitions.

The club underwent several changes over the years. In 1994, its table tennis section joined with the team from Sportverein Konsum, and in 2000 the organization became TSV 1950 Chemnitz e.V. When the parent club was set to dissolve after the 2007–08 season, its table tennis players established an independent association. Since 6 December 2007, it has operated as Tischtennis-Sportverein 1950 e.V. The club offers a place to play table tennis, participate in teams and competitions, and try the sport through a trial practice session. Prospective members can also submit a membership application.
