About Tennessee Urban Forestry Council
The Tennessee Urban Forestry Council (TUFC) is the state’s oldest non-profit advocate for trees, established in 1991. Comprising a diverse group of urban foresters, arborists, community leaders, and educators, our mission is to raise awareness about the vital role of trees and forests in urban environments. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we are funded by members, program revenue, private donors, and grants.
Our programs and events aim to inspire action, exchange information, and foster collaborations to support healthy urban and community forests. We offer diverse programs such as tree certification, recognition, educational webinars, conferences, and more. Our vision is for every Tennessean to enjoy the benefits of vibrant, healthy urban and community forests.
We aim to empower people to develop, grow, and sustain such forests throughout every region of the state. Partnered with various organizations, including the Tennessee Department of Agriculture and the U. S.
