Tukyo is the creative platform and portfolio of an independent artist and developer whose work spans music, video, code, and games. Founded in 2015 as a YouTube channel, Tukyo began by making free music videos for independent SoundCloud artists. Through these collaborations, Tukyo helped popularize consistent use of datamoshing in music videos, working with artists including Medasin, Future Girlfriend, Macross 82-99, and Nanidato. The project later expanded to include original music released under the Tukyo name and a broader range of creative experiments.
Today, Tukyo develops games and digital projects, shares open-source code, and collaborates with other creators. Projects include Saltpeter, a pixel simulation game built with the custom WebGPU engine Nitrate; The Killing Rooms, a psychological horror game in early development; and documentation work for the Atomontage micro-voxel engine. Tukyo’s portfolio also features Profectio, a 161-piece Polygon NFT collection, and Sypher, a Solidity-coded token used in the deSypher on-chain word puzzle game. Across these projects, Tukyo emphasizes learning, experimentation, and supporting fellow artists.
