Túlavá Labka

OZ Túlavá labka is an animal rescue and shelter organization based in Banská Štiavnica, Slovakia. It provides direct care for dogs and cats, operates as a shelter and quarantine station for the town, and works to find animals new homes through adoption. The organization also helps animals found or relinquished by local residents, caring for them in its own facilities, foster placements and temporary homes.

Alongside rescue and rehoming, Túlavá labka runs a sterilization programme aimed at reducing the number of unwanted animals. When resources allow, it supports financially disadvantaged families by helping with sterilization and providing food or other supplies for their pets. The group also raises awareness of animal and nature protection at community events, schools and kindergartens, and through local media. Members and volunteers organize opportunities to walk the shelter dogs, and supporters can contribute financially or donate supplies. A partnership with Labka pet-supply shop enables donations to be ordered online for delivery to the shelter; branded clothing, caps and mugs are also available, with proceeds supporting the organization’s work.
