About Tumaini Open School
Tumaini Open School, located in Tabora, Central Tanzania, offers Form 1-IV education for teenage mothers in a nurturing environment. Founded by Br Ezekiel Kassanga, the school aims to educate 250 schoolgirls annually who have been excluded from education due to pregnancy. The school, funded mostly by private donations, transitioned from rented facilities to purpose-built classrooms and hostels in July 2023.
The dedicated team, including individuals with backgrounds in education, law, and social work, is committed to empowering vulnerable and outcast children by providing quality education. Advocating for gender equity and equality, the school focuses on girls' education, believing it to be a fundamental human right.
