Tunnel to the Sea

Tunnel to the Sea is an advocacy initiative focused on addressing the environmental crisis at California’s Salton Sea. The organization highlights the sea’s rapid water loss, rising salinity, and resulting toxic dust storms, which threaten local communities, wildlife, public health, and the regional economy. Its work centers on investigating how public funds allocated for restoration are being used and urging decision-makers to deliver visible, effective results.

Tunnel to the Sea researches and promotes sustainable water-restoration approaches, including the proposed large-scale project of bringing water from the Pacific Ocean through a tunnel. It also supports water conservation, water-import strategies, and ecological engineering as areas for exploration. Through lobbying, public outreach, and collaboration with scientists, engineers, policymakers, and concerned residents, the initiative seeks to build support for lasting solutions and greater accountability in government spending.

The organization invites people to join its campaign, share expertise, follow news and updates, and contribute through donations or participation in future projects.
