Tushinde Children's Trust is a registered charity that was founded in March 2010 with a mission to support vulnerable children and their families in Nairobi, Kenya. The organization was established after Megan Wright, a British woman living in Kenya, witnessed the dire living conditions in Mathare Valley, Nairobi, where thousands of families lived in one-room shacks with no sanitation, limited access to water, and no legal electricity. Tushinde recognized that many of these challenges mirrored those faced by children in the UK, such as family crises or neglect due to mental health issues.

Inspired to make a difference, Tushinde implemented a family support program that takes a holistic approach to finding lasting solutions. With their unique Case Management System, Tushinde provides social protection, free education, and psychological support to children from extremely poor families, many of whom have lost one or both parents to HIV. Today, Tushinde is well-established in the Mathare and Kiambiu communities, working closely with schools, clinics, and community groups to offer comprehensive care and support.
