Tuuliaisen Säätiö

Raija and Ossi Tuulianen Foundation is a Finnish nature conservation foundation based in Lemi, with its registered home in the municipality and operations extending across the country. Its mission is to support animal welfare and game management, while sharing information about issues important to Finland’s natural environment. The foundation provides financial support through grants, making funding decisions twice a year, in spring and autumn. Applicants submit requests electronically during application periods announced on the foundation’s website.

The foundation also recognizes conservation work through annual nature awards. Past recipients have included Juha Taskinen, honored for his long-term work for the Saimaa ringed seal, and the South Karelia Recreational Area Foundation for its work on the Hiitolanjoki river. In addition to grants and awards, the organization publishes activity reports and news, and offers educational content, including a documentary about the foundation. It also highlights seasonal YouTube live streams featuring Saimaa ringed seals. Through these activities, the foundation supports practical conservation efforts and connects the public with Finnish wildlife and nature.
