TYFA (Texas Youth Football & Cheer Association) is a non-profit 501C3 organization founded in 1995. Their mission is to provide young athletes with opportunities to compete and excel in youth football and cheer, while promoting equality, diversity, and academic achievement. TYFA strives to create an inclusive environment free from discrimination, preparing athletes for lifelong contributions to society.

As one of the largest independent leagues in the country and the largest in Texas, TYFA has chapters in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Killeen, the Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and West Texas. They also include numerous small towns in the surrounding areas. TYFA offers structured standardized football and cheer rules, a state playoff system, and a scholastic excellence program.

Each organization that is part of TYFA operates independently but follows the governing rules set by the association. With their vision to stimulate football and cheer in Texas, TYFA aims to serve as a unifying force for all leagues in the state, establishing one set of rules for everyone.
