The BETTER project is a groundbreaking Canadian research initiative dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals living with Type 1 diabetes. Launched with the collaboration of researchers, healthcare professionals, and people affected by the condition, BETTER aims to provide tailored training, resources, and public awareness about the everyday challenges faced by those managing diabetes.
The initiative includes a comprehensive registry that collects vital information about the experiences of individuals with Type 1 diabetes in Canada, including support systems and healthcare access. BETTER also offers a free online self-training platform for diabetes management, alongside the CREATE-1 biobank to assist researchers in better understanding the disease.
Participants can engage in various activities, including surveys to improve diabetes screening and subscribing to newsletters tailored for healthcare professionals to stay informed. Through its multifaceted approach, BETTER is committed to advancing research and providing essential support, ultimately striving to empower those living with Type 1 diabetes across the nation.
