About The Baobab Home
The Baobab Home is a community-focused NGO located in Bagamoyo, Tanzania. Since its establishment in 2004, they have been dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable children affected by HIV/AIDS, mental illness, and poverty. Initially starting as an orphanage, they soon realized that providing support solely to children was not enough.
To truly make a lasting difference, they expanded their focus to include the extended families and the broader community. The Baobab Home operates on a holistic approach, taking into consideration the various social, economic, and psychological aspects of disadvantaged situations. They have developed sustainable solutions and programs to address these needs and have continuously evolved to meet the changing needs of the community.
One of their notable programs is the Steven Tito Academy (STA), a primary school that offers high-quality, safe, English-medium education to children from The Baobab Home and the local community. The academy has garnered support from sponsors worldwide and currently serves 162 students. If you want to support their mission, you can make a one-time donation or become a monthly supporter.
Additionally, you can join their dynamic international team and volunteer with them in Tanzania or from the comfort of your home. The Baobab Home is a registered 501(c)(3) organization in the USA and a registered foreign NGO in Bagamoyo, Tanzania. Welcome to The Baobab Home!
