About U-Tena
U-Tena Youth Organization is a Kenyan NGO established in 2006 by youth leaders in Nairobi's Mukuru Slums. Our belief in the transformative power of arts led us to engage young people as change-makers through various programs. Since expanding county-wide in 2007, we've impacted lives by integrating performing arts into underserved communities.
For over 13 years, we've empowered youth through education, mentorship, and partnerships with schools and organizations. Private donors, corporate sponsors, and local initiatives sustain us, fueling our mission to enable youth to reach their potential. Our core values of excellence, social justice, impact, professionalism, and integrity drive us to foster innovation, advocate, and demonstrate measurable results.
