Birds of Ukraine is an online resource and community for birdwatchers, presenting photographs and information about the country’s birdlife. The site combines a large photo database with species profiles covering descriptions, distribution, maps and biology. Its searchable checklist organises birds by taxonomic family and order, helping visitors explore documented species and their status in Ukraine.

Birdwatchers contribute photographs, videos, observations and blog posts, while discussion features allow members to comment on sightings and help identify uncertain birds. The site also highlights rare records, notable observations and first registrations, alongside monthly photo selections and recent video uploads. Visitors can follow new contributions, browse regional information and view activity through a Big Year competition that tracks members’ annual bird lists.

With more than 105,000 pictures and records for hundreds of photographed species, Birds of Ukraine serves both as a visual archive and a communication hub for enthusiasts. It offers practical reference material, community knowledge and ongoing reports that support the discovery and documentation of birds across Ukraine.
