About UBC
The Union of the Baltic Cities (UBC) is a leading network of cities in the Baltic Sea Region, encompassing member cities from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, and Sweden. Established in 1991 in Gdańsk, UBC is a voluntary organization that harnesses the collective potential of its member cities. UBC operates through eight commissions, including Cultural Cities, Inclusive and Healthy Cities, Learning Cities, Planning Cities, Safe Cities, Smart and Prospering Cities, Sustainable Cities, and Youthful Cities.
The organization's ultimate mission is to support member cities, provide a platform for cooperation, cultivate a unified voice for cities of all sizes, and foster connections between member cities and the rest of Europe. UBC actively works towards boosting cooperation within the Baltic Sea Region and implementing the European Union Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR)
