Ubuntu Matters Basketball is a youth basketball development program built around Ubuntu, an African humanist philosophy meaning “I am because we are.” The brand uses this idea to emphasize togetherness, teamwork, and personal growth in a competitive world. Its programs combine basketball with social and emotional learning, helping young people develop on and off the court.

For schools, Ubuntu Matters collaborates with educators to deliver fun, curriculum-based physical activities during lunch recess and after-school programs. These activities use basketball to support enrichment and mental and physical well-being. The organization also offers customized private coaching for athletes, with sessions focused on individual needs and basketball fundamentals. Training is available for male and female players aged 12 and older, in one-on-one or small-group formats; groups may be co-ed or organized by gender according to preference. Monthly bookings include eight sessions, typically scheduled twice a week.
