About Udfordringen
Udfordringen (meaning The Challenge) is a Christian weekly paper that provides a platform for Danish Christians. Based in Christiansfeld, a small town in Denmark, Udfordringen covers the entire country through a network of freelance journalists in key areas like Copenhagen/Zealand, Aarhus, Aalborg, and Bornholm. The paper is independent and inclusive, publishing articles on both free churches and the Danish National Church (Folkekirken).
It is financed solely through subscriptions and advertisements, ensuring its independence from any external influence. Udfordringen started as a Christian tract in 1973, then evolved into a monthly newspaper before becoming a weekly publication in 1985. Currently, Udfordringen prints 7,000 copies with an estimated readership of 25,000 people.
The paper's core mission is to promote Christian ethics and provide a Christian perspective on contemporary culture and society. Udfordringen firmly believes in Jesus as the Son of God, as testified and explained in the New Testament
