About UEL Toronto
The United Empire Loyalists' Association of Canada - Toronto Branch (UELAC) is dedicated to preserving, promoting, and celebrating the history and traditions of the Loyalist period in Canadian history. Located in the heart of Toronto, this organization unites descendants of Loyalist families while increasing public awareness of their contributions to Canada, especially within the Greater Toronto Area. Established in 1896, UELAC has grown through initiatives such as supporting a bursary at York University, developing a research library, and producing publications like Loyalist Lineages.
The Toronto Branch actively engages in community projects, including tree plantings at Queen's Park and gifting historical memorabilia to the Toronto Historical Board. Their office is open for research and visits, and they host speaker series and events to enrich understanding of Loyalist heritage. With a rich history and a commitment to education, the UELAC Toronto Branch continues to honor the legacy of Loyalists and foster community connections
