The Federal Migration Service of Russia (UFMS) plays a crucial role in managing migration processes within the country. As a centralized authority, it operates through local offices to oversee the movement of both Russian citizens and foreign nationals. UFMS provides a wide array of services including the issuance and replacement of passports, registration of residence, and facilitation of citizenship. It specifically caters to the needs of foreign citizens by offering residence permits, visas, and refugee certifications.

UFMS is responsible for implementing government migration policies, ensuring compliance with immigration laws, and assisting citizens and residents with various documentation processes. Services also include the issuance of work permits and monitoring of foreign nationals' compliance with residency regulations. As an essential government entity, UFMS is often referred to as the Passport Office, highlighting its central role in passport control and immigration services. With a focus on facilitating legal migration and providing support to applicants, UFMS remains a pivotal institution in Russia's migration landscape.
