Urban Forest is an online plant identification guide focused on the flora of Singapore and Southeast Asia. It brings together an archive of 546 plant species across 123 families, supported by more than 2,800 photos, written descriptions, and maps showing native distributions. The collection includes plants found in Singapore whose origins extend across regions such as Africa and the Americas, as well as climates from tropical to temperate.

Visitors can browse species by features including flower colour, family, habitat, and cultivation, or search the archive when they need help identifying a plant. The site also explores the environments where plants grow, from Bukit Timah’s primary rainforest to coastal mangroves, scrubland, and other habitats. An interactive phylogenetic tree presents evolutionary relationships among plant families, from ferns to flowering plants. In addition to its reference material, Urban Forest shares visual content, species updates, and blog posts. Together, these resources make the site useful for discovering, identifying, and learning about the region’s plant diversity.
