About Vegan & Animal Rights Society Ug
Uganda Vegan Society, established in 2019 and officially registered in June 2021 as Vegan Network Uganda, is a dedicated volunteer non-governmental organization advocating for reduced animal consumption, healthy eating habits, compassion towards animals, and environmental protection. This vibrant community aims to introduce veganism as a way of life in Uganda. They organize Annual Vegan festivals, potlucks, restaurant weeks, and advocacy events while promoting animal rights.
The society is committed to reducing animal product consumption by 50% in Uganda by 2050, making vegan options accessible and affordable. Embracing veganism not only benefits animals but also promotes a healthy lifestyle, reducing the risks of diseases and supporting exercise levels.
