About UHAS
The University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) is a pioneering institution established in Ghana in 2011, dedicated to the education and training of healthcare professionals. Located in the Volta Region with campuses in Sokode-Lokoe and Hohoe, UHAS is the first public university in the region specifically focused on health sciences. The university offers a comprehensive array of educational programs, featuring 22 undergraduate and 14 postgraduate courses across seven specialized schools, including Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing and Midwifery, and Public Health, as well as the new School of Dentistry.
UHAS also operates two institutes—Institute of Health Research and Institute of Traditional and Alternative Medicine—enhancing its research capabilities. With a vision of excellence, innovation, and integrity, UHAS aims to improve community health and quality of life through education, research, and clinical services, while fostering partnerships that support its commitment to serve Ghana and beyond
