Drexel Urban Health Collaborative

Drexel University’s Urban Health Collaborative (UHC), based at the Dornsife School of Public Health, works to improve health in cities by advancing scientific knowledge and public understanding of urban health and health differences. Recognizing urban health as a global challenge, the Collaborative shares research and information intended to support healthier lives. Its work covers issues including climate change, the built environment, social determinants of health, and aging, with projects in Philadelphia and through global partnerships.

The UHC connects research and practice with resources and opportunities for students, researchers, and communities. Its offerings include urban health research projects, data resources, briefs, a data repository, and GIS consultation. It also provides information about urban health degree programs, student funding, pilot and working-group funding, and visiting scholar opportunities. Through events such as its annual symposium, summer institute, invited speaker series, and UHC Day, the Collaborative brings together people interested in the field. The organization publishes news and annual reports and highlights collaborations addressing local concerns, including healthy food access.
