About Uhuru Quilters Guild
Uhuru Quilters Guild, Inc. Their mission is to preserve the traditions, culture, and history of quilting while celebrating the accomplishments of these talented individuals. They achieve this through a range of services and offerings.
Uhuru hosts workshops and exhibits, allowing quilters to share their knowledge and inspire others. The guild, established in 1994, has a rich history and was formed as a result of an invitation to create a chapter in the Washington, DC area. The founding members were passionate individuals who joined forces to create a platform for African American quilters to exhibit and advance their craft.
Headed by a dedicated leadership council, Uhuru offers various committees, including Block of the Month, Challenges, and Education/Workshops, each contributing to the guild's success. For more information or any inquiries, they can be easily reached through their website
