UICI Verona

UICI Verona is the Verona section of the Italian Union of the Blind and Partially Sighted, bringing together people with visual impairments and their families through practical support, advocacy and shared activities. The organization helps members navigate essential procedures and access useful information, including patronage services for applications related to legal recognition of blindness, legal advice and a listening service. It also supports families with school inclusion and provides training and guidance on accessible technology, from digital aids to smartphones and voice assistants.

Beyond its support services, UICI Verona encourages social connection, independence and participation. Members can take part in sports, including Paralympic activities such as showdown and baseball, as well as guided visits, trips and social gatherings. Pet therapy sessions offer opportunities for sensory experiences with horses and donkeys, while the Libro Parlato initiative introduces people to audiobooks. The association also provides information about mobility and orientation for people who are blind or partially sighted. Membership costs €50 per year and includes access to its support desks and activities.
