Új Akropolisz

Új Akropolisz is the Hungarian branch of an international, non-profit cultural association and philosophical movement founded in Buenos Aires in 1957. Independent of political, religious and economic influence, it has operated in Hungary since 1986. The organization presents philosophy as a practical way of life, drawing on the ethical and spiritual heritage of Eastern and Western traditions to encourage personal development and thoughtful action.

Its programs include introductory and ongoing philosophy courses, lectures, discussion groups and workshops exploring questions about happiness, community, ethics and the future. Cultural activities span exhibitions, crafts, theatre, music, poetry and children’s programs. The association also organizes volunteering, with initiatives in environmental protection, civil protection and social support. Articles, quotations, an e-library and publisher recommendations provide additional reading and resources.

Új Akropolisz welcomes participants through centers across Hungary, including Budapest, Eger, Győr, Pécs, Székesfehérvár and Veszprém. Its public events invite people to engage with enduring ideas, exchange perspectives and apply philosophical reflection to everyday life and contemporary challenges.
