About — UkaniManje
UkaniManje is a renowned brand in Zambia dedicated to promoting HIV awareness and prevention. It all started with the collaboration between Katy Weinberg, a former Peace Corps volunteer, and Ephraim Mutalange, known as The Son of Africa. They recognized a need to address the lack of access to vital information about HIV among Zambian youth.
UkaniManje's unique approach involves using popular musicians to make public health messaging more relatable and approachable for the youth. They have created a structured process that harnesses the power of music to bring about behavior change related to HIV. Partnering with public health professionals and artists, the organization has developed a variety of impactful songs and videos embedded with precise public health messages.
These resources aim to empower youth to make informed decisions and prioritize their well-being above material things. With a growing network of talented artists and a fan base of over a million people, UkaniManje continues to expand its reach across Zambia. Through their innovative campaigns, they strive to be a trusted source of accurate and easily accessible information on HIV, ultimately working towards a future where youth are educated and engaged in the fight against HIV
