UKEOF

UKEOF (UK Environmental Observation Framework) is dedicated to enhancing environmental monitoring and data accessibility across the UK. Established to improve observational activities, UKEOF collaborates with various organizations to foster coordinated efforts in climate observations, sustainable funding mechanisms, and effective monitoring practices. Over the years, UKEOF has spearheaded several initiatives, notably the Monitoring & Modelling group (2017-18), which focused on integrating monitoring techniques with modeling to bolster data relevance and utility.

From 2011 to 2015, UKEOF worked on the Efficiencies in Observations project, promoting collaboration among agencies to streamline environmental monitoring processes, culminating in the development of best practice guidelines. UKEOF also played a crucial role in enhancing climate observation coordination from 2012 to 2014, ensuring adherence to global standards while identifying gaps in data. Their efforts further include establishing sustainable funding mechanisms for long-term observation needs. UKEOF continues to support workshops and events, facilitating knowledge exchange and collaboration to advance the understanding and application of environmental data across the UK.
