The Ukrainian Jewish Encounter (UJE) is a dynamic multinational initiative established in 2008, aimed at fostering understanding and solidarity between the Jewish and Ukrainian communities. With a mission rooted in collaboration, UJE unites scholars, artists, civic leaders, and the public from Ukraine, Israel, and the diaspora to explore shared historical narratives and cultural interactions.

UJE's diverse offerings include scholarly publications, educational initiatives, and public events designed to enhance awareness of the complex relationship between Ukrainians and Jews. Notable programs include the 'Encounter' Literary Prize, which honors influential works promoting Ukrainian-Jewish dialogue, and commemorations like the Babyn Yar memorial. UJE also features outreach projects, exhibitions, and digital resources such as the critically acclaimed UJE Timeline, which narrates the intertwined histories of these two communities.

Through its multifaceted approach, the Ukrainian Jewish Encounter strives to illuminate the intertwined identities of Ukrainians and Jews, emphasizing their cultural contributions and fostering mutual respect in contemporary society.
